I have been to New York City four times and my trip during Spring Break of March 2015 was the best. My husband and I took our daughter there for her first time. During this trip I was 12 weeks pregnant. Our daughter, Brooklyn, had so much fun except for all the walking we did.

First Night in NYC

The first night we got to NYC we went to Time Square. We wanted to show Brooklyn all the lights at night. Her eyes lit up with all the lights, all the people and the Disney store.

1st Day in NYC

Our first full day in NYC we went to Central Park. Brooklyn had so much fun climbing and jumping on the rocks. She had never seen such a big park before. We then took her to the Central Park Zoo. Her favorite part of the zoo were the seals. Before leaving the park we let Brooklyn play at a playground. I loved seeing her face full of happiness and joy. When we left the park we walked into the St. Patrick’s Day parade on 5th Avenue.

2nd Day in NYC

Our second day in NYC we took Brooklyn to see her bridge, the Brooklyn Bridge. We walked to the halfway point so Brooklyn could see how beautiful the bridge is. After our walk on the bridge we went to Battery Park. Again we let Brooklyn play at a playground. We then went to the Statue of Liberty. The boat ride was fun and very windy. Brooklyn was amazed on how big the Statue of Liberty was. That evening we went back to Time Square. We wanted to take Brooklyn to the Disney store. She couldn’t believe how big the store was. She had a blast seeing all the toys and the magic mirror.

3rd Day in NYC

On day three we went to the Empire State Building. This was my third time up there, but the view never gets old. I wanted Brooklyn to see all of NYC from high up. Next door to the Empire State Building there was a Build-A-Bear Shop. We got Brooklyn a NYC bear which she named Brooklyn after her. We did a lot of walking and went to different parks so Brooklyn could play. This trip was for Brooklyn to experience NYC as a kid.

Last Day in NYC

On our last day we wanted to take Brooklyn somewhere different and special. She loves to wear make-up especially lipstick. We took her to a place called Bite Beauty Lip Lab. Here we were able to make our own lipstick. We got to make our own color, add scents to it, and pick the container the lipstick goes in. This was a special mommy and daughter time experience. For our last afternoon we went back to the playground in Central Park. Also, that evening it started to snow a little which Brooklyn was so excited about.

Amazing Family Trip

Our trip lasted for 4 days and 4 nights. Brooklyn really loved her trip to New York City. I plan on taking another trip with my family sometime in the future. This time around we will have our other daughter with us and not in my belly.

Finally!!!

Brooklyn finally started her first day of school on September 7th. She was so excited to see her friends and play at recess. I was happy that I was able to walk to class and take her to her desk. Brooklyn really loved her Pretty Disney Princess backpack and lunch tote.

Walking to class.

First Day of School OOTD

The night before we picked out her first day of school outfit. She picked out this Keep Calm And Be A Princess shirt because she likes the back design. Her grandma got her this shirt from Kohl’s for her birthday. The shorts are Cat and Jack from Target. The black leggings are Faded Glory from Wal-Mart. Her high-top shoes are SM New York Sabina from Sears.

Second Day of School OOTD

For Brooklyn’s second day of school I picked out her outfit. She was busy watching a movie before bed lol. Her My Besties Are Wild shirt is from Justice. We got this shirt for a really good deal. Brooklyn is a very small girl so it’s hard to find jeans that fit her well. She has to wear slim size jeans. At JC Penny’s I found a good selection of Arizona slim jeans (http://shopstyle.it/l/g32o). The shoes that she is wearing are low Converse in the burgundy color (http://shopstyle.it/l/g31a).

Fussy Baby

Have you ever had a fussy baby and wished you had something to calm them down? With my second daughter I found something that calms her down. She is more fussy than my first daughter.

Where I Hear Baby Mine?

I always liked the song from the Disney movie Dumbo called Baby Mine. It’s the scene where Dumbo is being rocked my his mom while she is locked up. I searched for the song on iTunes and found a version sang by a group called Celtic Woman. Years ago I saw them perform on TV and I loved the way they sang. I knew I had to buy this song.

When my daughter gets fussy I play her Baby Mine and she calms down immediately. I have played this song for her since she was about 3 months old. She is now 11 months old and it still calms her down especially in the car. I bought the album because it had other calming music for her.

Lullaby by Celtic Woman

1. When You Wish Upon A Star
2. Stay Awake
3. Baby Mine***
4. Goodnight My Angel
5. Over The Rainbow
6. Suantrai
7. Walking In The Air
8. The Blessing
9. Brahm’s Lallabye
10. Hush Little Baby

View from my window on Aug. 29th

Brooklyn’s first day of second grade was suppose to be on August 28th. Well Hurricane Harvey came and changed those plans. On Saturday August 26th we started to get rain from the hurricane. On Sunday August 27th I got a message saying school was close on Monday and Tuesday. So the first day of school was going to be on Wednesday. We continued to get a lot of rain from the hurricane. The school district sent another message stating that school was now starting on September 5th. This message was sent before some of our area started to flood. The flooding has effected yet again the first day of school. As of August 30th our school district might start on September 7th.

If Brooklyn does start on the 7th then she would of had an extra 10 days of summer break. She is ready to start school to learn and see her friends. Being locked up in the house for 4 days was starting to get to her. Hopefully school does started on September 7th and the kids can start learning.

I am one of the lucky ones who didn’t experience flooding in their homes. I want to share with you some of the pictures that some of my family members did go through. They had their land flood and their car go in the water.

My prayers go out to my Houston family. Houston Strong.

I love watching videos about people showing what’s in their bags on YouTube. On Pinterest I recently started searching this topic. I am enjoying reading peoples blogs about what’s in their bags.

I want to share what’s in my current bag I’m carrying now. Recently I purchased a Rebecca Minkoff Marlow Mini (different color: http://shopstyle.it/l/gNRu) in the color black. Since this is a smaller bag I don’t have much in it. It holds what is needed everyday when I go out.

List of my items:

1. Coach card holder in grain leather with rainbow
2. Louis Vuitton 6 key holder in Damier Ebene Canvas (http://shopstyle.it/l/gNS0)
3. Louis Vuitton key pouch in Damier Ebene Canvas
4. The Honest Company Hand Sanitizer- Lemongrass with aloe (http://shopstyle.it/l/gNTv)
5. Victoria Secret- Bombshell perfume
6. iPhone 7 plus- Jet Black
7. EasyAcc charger
8. Charging cord
9. NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick- Lipli 20 French Maid (http://shopstyle.it/l/gNVP)
10. Chap Stick- Sugar Cookie
11. Movie ticket
12. Hair tie

In my bag I am using my Coach card holder as a wallet. There is about 9 cards and some cash. I am surprised on how much this little card holder can hold. I have my car, house and mail box keys in my Louis Vuitton 6 key holder. There is a slot where I can a couple of cards in if I need to. I also have a Louis Vuitton key pouch, but I only have some reward cards in it.

Since I am kind of a germophobe I have to have some hand sanitizer with me. I have the Honest Company hand sanitizer and it’s a spray bottle. Having a spray bottle makes it easier to clean my hands and surfaces that needs some cleaning. Everyday I have to have perfume on and there are days I’ll forget to put some on. That’s why I have this portable Victoria Secret Bombshell perfume in my bag. I need to make sure I smell good every time I leave my house.

Of course, I have to have my iPhone 7 plus phone in my bag. Sometimes my phone isn’t fully charged so I carry an EasyAcc portable charger. When I’m out running errands I like having a backup charger with me. At TJ Maxx I found this little cord to charge my phone. It’s small to fit perfectly in all my bags I carry.

In my bags I always try to keep one lipstick and chap stick in it. Right now I have a NYX lingerie liquid lipstick. This is a good everyday color for my skin color. I have to have chap stick with me since I tend to get chapped lips. This sugar cookie chap stick is my favorite flavor. I love the way it smells.

There are a couple of random items in my bag at times. There is a movie pass and a hair tie. Normally I keep an extra hair tie on my wrist, but my daughter put this one in my bag. I went to the movies the other day and I had to leave. The manager was able to give me a ticket to come back.

I am planning on writing more blogs like this. Thanks for reading.
